What materials are suitable for die casting? We should consider several aspects when we choose die casting materials:

mechanical properties: tensile strength, high temperature strength, elongation, hardness

Physical properties; Density, melting point, thermal conductivity

Chemical properties: Heat resistance and corrosion resistance

Process properties: fluidity, mold adhesion

 

As a result, die casting materials should have below features:

  • good fluidity when the overheating temperature is not high, this is good for die casting material filling the die cavity to make die casting parts’ surface smooth.

  •  Low linear shrinkage and crack tendency to avoid die casting parts crack during die casting process, due to die casting products have strict precision requirement

  • High temperature strength to avoid die casting parts deformed

 

 

In conclusion, We always use aluminum ADC12 to make aluminum alloy die casting spare parts. We can also adopt other aluminum alloys like ADC5/ADC7/A380 etc as to customers’ specific requirement. And we normally use Zamak3 to make zinc alloy die casting products. Zamak5 and Zamak7 are for optional.
